With a PhD degree from Princeton, and bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Peking University, Hongqiu is a senior data scientist at a major American university, where she has worked for more than two decades. For several years, she served as Chair for the admissions interview committee of Princeton University Alumni Association’s North Carolina branch.
Her career in educational consulting began with the upbringing of her own two children. Early on, due to the achievements of her children, parents began to flock to her for advice. Long before her children’s college applications, she successfully guided several friends' children to admission to their dream schools. After her son’s EA admission to Stanford in 2014 (along with acceptances to Harvard and MIT in RD), and her daughter’s ED admission to Columbia in 2017, Hongqiu decided to embrace her educational consulting role more fully and help more students achieve their dreams. Hongqiu has experience in guiding students’ development in a variety of areas, including grade improvement, summer school enrollment, course selection, competition participation, leadership demonstration, community service, to name a few. She has mastered the art of cultivating a student’s “hook,” making it very hard for admission officers to say no to the exceptional students under her tutelage. The focus of Hongqiu's consulting is to help students discover their passions and utilize their strengths to the fullest extent possible, guiding them to grow into the next generation of accomplished professionals.
